Motorcycle wrapping: why it costs what it costs
A motorcycle uses far less material than a car and almost always costs more than people expect. The reason is not the vinyl: it is the hours.

The job is not measured in metres of film
Compare surface area and a motorcycle comes nowhere near a small car. Compare hours and the order reverses. Material is the smaller part of any wrap quote, and on a motorcycle it matters even less.
What you pay for is bench time: dismantling, cleaning, cutting a pattern for each part, applying with heat, wrapping around the back and reassembling. That time does not shrink because the motorcycle is small.
Many parts, all of them different
Where a car has one flat, metre-long door, a motorcycle has six parts with ribs, vents, screws and sharp edges. Each one is handled separately and none resembles the last, so there is no economy through repetition.
That is why the quote is based on parts rather than metres. A naked bike with few covers and a sports bike with full fairings are jobs on two very different scales, even though both are motorcycles.
The tank is all compound curves
The surface curves horizontally and vertically at once, and the vinyl can only follow it with controlled stretching and heat. Stretch it too far and the film stays under tension from the outset, then pulls back over time; stretch it too little and it leaves wrinkles that will not disappear.
It is the most time-consuming part of the entire motorcycle, and also where rushed work shows most clearly.
Almost everything comes off the motorcycle
Fairings, side covers, mudguards and the tail section come off and are handled separately on the bench. It is slower than working in place and is the only way to carry the film around the edge and finish it on the hidden face.
That finish on the back is what decides whether the job lasts. An edge trimmed flush lifts within months under pressure washing and contact with clothing, and once dirt starts getting underneath there is no way back.
What moves the quote
With photos of both sides of the motorcycle and the exact model, we can set a price range without moving it.
- How many parts are included: a tank and covers are not the same as the entire motorcycle.
- Whether it has full fairings or is a naked bike: both the number and shape of the parts change.
- The chosen finish: plain gloss is the starting point, while textures, colour-shift and chrome add both material cost and difficulty.
- Whether stickers, stripes or previous vinyl need to come off first.
- The condition of the paint: the film bonds to clear coat and needs that clear coat to be sound.
- Whether PPF is added to contact areas on the tank, windscreen or headlight.

What cannot be promised
Some parts cannot come off without touching the electrics or lowering the tank. On those, the finish is completed in place and an edge remains visible somewhere. That is not a defect: it is a limitation of that specific model, and we tell you before starting, not at handover.
Vinyl cannot go everywhere either. Exhausts, headers and parts near heat sources are excluded, as are rough, unpainted plastics, where the adhesive has nothing to grip.
How long the motorcycle stays with us
This is not a job you wait at the door for. Dismantling, cleaning, application, post-heating and reassembly take several days, and the drop-off and collection dates are agreed with the quote.
We work by appointment at our workshop at Av. de Peris i Valero, 68, in Valencia. If you live farther away and want an estimate before bringing the motorcycle in, photos are enough to start.
FAQ
Can you wrap only the tank?
Yes, and it is one of the most requested jobs, along with stripes or details alone. Bear in mind that the tank is the hardest part, so its per-part price is higher than for a side cover.
Can the vinyl be removed to reveal the original paint?
Yes, that is one reason to choose it. If the film was premium-grade and the paint was sound, the factory colour remains preserved underneath.
How long does a motorcycle wrap last?
The usual reference of three to five years applies here too, with one motorcycle-specific point: areas touched by knees and boots wear sooner than the rest. Protection film over those areas makes the difference.
Can I bring the motorcycle in without dismantling anything?
We handle the dismantling; it is part of the job. What does help is telling us if any part is a replacement, has been resprayed or was damaged in a fall.
Do you provide complete motorcycle detailing?
No. We provide wrapping, protection film and coating over what we install. The cleaning we do is the technical preparation required by the job, not a separate service.
