I contacted Xwrap to apply a dark vinyl wrap to protect my rims and give them a more aggressive look. They gave me excellent advice and did a top-notch job. I highly recommend them; they are very professional.

This is the moment when the paint is at its best and has not taken anything yet. We check how the car arrives from the dealer, remove what it picked up in transport and in the delivery prep, and protect it with PPF and ceramic before it starts collecting chips.
Between the assembly line and your hands there is transport, storage and a delivery wash done in a hurry. Almost no car reaches the workshop with its clearcoat exactly as it left the factory, and that is the reason for this page.
The car travels by lorry or by ship, out in the open and sometimes with a protective film over the bonnet and roof. Along the way it picks up dust, salt and organic fallout, and all of it has to be rubbed off.
On cars that come in through the port it is common to find iron contamination embedded in the clearcoat. You cannot see it: you feel it by running your hand over the panel, because the surface drags instead of sliding.
The delivery wash is done quickly and rarely with the two-bucket method. That is where swirls come from: fine circular marks you only see in full sun, and which on dark paint dull the colour from day one.
And if someone has given it a quick polish to hide a transport mark, what is left is holograms. So are traces of filler wax and silicone, which mask the defect for a few weeks and get in the way when film or ceramic has to bond.
PPF and ceramic coating are both clear. Whatever is underneath stays there for as many years as the material lasts, and a swirl sealed under the film cannot be corrected without taking the film off.
So the first step is not to fit anything. It is to look at the clearcoat under light, measure its thickness and decide whether decontamination is enough or a light correction is needed. On a new car a light preparation is usually enough; when it is not, we show you before touching anything.
The front end is the urgent part: bumper, bonnet, wings, headlights and mirrors are what the gravel hits. That is where PPF goes, because it is physical material and absorbs the impact.
The rest of the body is covered with ceramic, which does nothing against stones but keeps the gloss and makes washing far quicker. Inside the car, the piano black on the console is the first surface to scratch: it is protected with film in the same way as the exterior.
from the essentials to the full job
All three start from the same base: inspection, decontamination and preparation. What changes is how much surface is covered with film, and what is done with the rest of the car.
The sensible minimum on a car just handed over: film where the gravel actually hits, and clean paint left underneath.
The package people ask for when they do motorway miles. Full bonnet and wings, with no cut line halfway across the panel.
For a car you want to keep for years, or sell with no surprises: film over the whole body, or a combination of PPF and ceramic, plus the interior.
Ask for a personalised assessment by sending us the car's details and two or three photos in daylight. With that we set a range, and the final price is confirmed when we look the car over at the workshop.
The same preparation and the same technique in all three. The difference is the surface covered, and whether the car leaves protected only at the front or all over.
| Essential | Full Front | Complete | |
|---|---|---|---|
| PPF coverage | High-risk areas | Full Front | Whole body, or front end plus ceramic |
| Bonnet | Leading edge only | Full | Full |
| Front wings | Front section | Full | Full |
| Headlights | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Mirrors | No | Yes | Yes |
| Doors, roof and rear | No | No | Yes, with full-body PPF |
| Visible cut line on the bonnet | Yes, halfway across | No | No |
| Decontamination and preparation | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Light correction if needed | Depending on condition | Yes | Yes |
| Protection for the rest of the body | No | Water-repellent | Ceramic coating |
| Piano black and interior | No | No | Can be included in the job |
| Wheels, glass and upholstery | Available on request | Available on request | Ask us for a complete solution |
| Time in the bay | The shortest | In between | The longest |
The useful question is not which is best, but where the car lives: if it sleeps in a garage and moves around town, Essential covers what actually gets hit; if you are on the motorway every day, you will be glad of the whole bonnet from the first trip.
Look first, decide after
We go over the whole car under dedicated lighting before proposing anything: swirls from the dealer wash, holograms, transport marks and iron contamination in the clearcoat. We show you what we find, on the car itself.
We measure the clearcoat thickness panel by panel. It tells us whether anything was resprayed before delivery, and how much margin there is to correct without eating into the layer.
With the real condition in front of us we choose the package: how far the film goes, what gets ceramic and which extras make sense in your case. What comes out is a fixed quote with dates, not an open-ended list.
Technical wash, chemical decontamination of iron and tar, clay, and a light correction wherever the clearcoat asks for it. Then a full degrease: without it neither film nor ceramic bonds properly.
We remove whatever comes off without forcing it so the film can tuck in behind, fit it wet piece by piece, and apply the coating over the rest of the body. One car per bay.
A final pass under light, the curing time respected, and written guidance: when you can wash it, with what, and what is normal to see over the first few days while the film loses the moisture from the installation.

En Xwrap me abrieron un hueco para realizar un trabajo de vinilado en mi coche (cambio de color del parachoques). Quedó estupendo, buen trato, varias maneras de pagar y eso que me retrasé en la recogida. ¡Los recomiendo!

Very satisfied with the service. Full wrap in Avery Dennison satin black vinyl on my BMW X5, impeccable result. Deadline met, meticulous work, attentive team. I came all the way from France specifically for this and it was definitely worth the trip. I recommend them without hesitation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A very thorough and high-quality job on the entire car: PPF, polishing, ceramic coating, wheels... and especially the vinyl wrap during the Chrome Delete service. Very happy with the result and the service.
Up to 3 years of warranty on the PPF installation, with the exact term written in the quote according to the film chosen. It covers yellowing, cracking and lifting with no external cause.
On ceramic coating the warranty depends on the product applied and is also set out in writing, together with the maintenance needed to keep it. Impacts that pierce the film are not a defect: they are exactly what it is there for.
As soon as you can. Factory paint arrives fully cured, so there is nothing to wait for, and every week on the road adds chips to the front end that never come out. Ideally you book a date before you even collect it from the dealer, so it comes into the bay with very few miles on it.
Not usually a full correction, but almost always something. The normal case is to decontaminate and take one light step to remove the swirls from the delivery wash. We decide that with light and a thickness gauge, not in advance, and if the clearcoat arrives sound we stop at preparing the surface.
They solve different things. PPF is a physical film that absorbs gravel impacts and scratches; ceramic will not save you from a stone, but it keeps the gloss and halves the effort of washing the car. On a new car the usual combination is film on the front end and ceramic on the rest.
It depends how long you plan to keep it, and on the colour. On dark paint or special finishes, full-body PPF stops wash marks appearing anywhere on the car, and when you come to sell, the bodywork underneath is still untouched. For normal use, film on the front end and ceramic on the rest covers most of the risk.
It is the first thing to scratch on a new car: a ring or a key on the console is enough. It is protected with clear film just like the exterior, and it can be included in the job while the car is already in the bay.
Yes. Wheel coating and the rain-repellent glass treatment are available on request, and upholstery protection is an add-on service depending on the job booked. Ask us and we will price it along with the rest.
It depends on the package. Essential is the shortest; a Full Front needs several days between preparation, installation and letting the film settle, and Complete needs considerably longer. We give you the exact drop-off and collection dates when we close the quote. We work by appointment.
Tell us the model, the colour and the delivery date. We will hold a bay so the car goes straight from the dealer to the workshop and leaves protected before it covers any miles.

Protecting a new car in Valencia has one advantage that never comes round again: you start from sound clearcoat. Everything applied afterwards — film, ceramic or both — works on a surface that has not yet built up years of roller washes, which is why the preparation is short and the result is the best that car will ever have.
One idea worth dropping: a dealer car is not an untouched car. It arrives with contamination from transport and with marks from the delivery wash, and those marks are fine but real. Work on a newly bought car always starts by removing them, because both PPF and ceramic are clear and seal in whatever they find underneath.
As for what to protect, the road decides the order. The front end takes the gravel, so it gets film; the rest of the body takes sun, dust, salt air near the coast and organic fallout in summer, and for that a ceramic coating does a better job at a more reasonable price. Covering the whole car in PPF makes sense on dark colours, on special finishes, or when the plan is to keep it for many years.
Inside the cabin, the weak point on almost every current model is the piano black on the console and the frame around the screens. It scratches with normal use and is not easy to correct, so protecting it on day one saves you the annoyance. Wheels, glass and upholstery can be added to the same job: ask us and we will price them with the rest.
