Our warranty in plain terms
Every job is handed over with a written warranty. The term is not the same for every service, because it depends on the material chosen, so instead of advertising one generic figure we would rather explain what we cover, what we do not, and how it is kept valid.
- Terms in writing
- Warranty on the application and on the material
- Post-handover inspection
Two different warranties
It is worth separating them, because they cover different things and different people answer for them.
Warranty on the application
This one is ours, and it covers how the job is made: edges lifting with no external cause, bubbles or wrinkles appearing after handover, badly finished joins, or dirt trapped under the material.
If any of those defects appears, it is put right at the workshop at no cost.
Warranty on the material
This one comes from the manufacturer of the vinyl, the film or the coating, and it covers how the product behaves: premature fading, loss of adhesion or failure of the adhesive within the stated term.
The quote states the brand and the exact reference of the material applied, so you can look those conditions up yourself.
Terms by service
The specific term is set in the quote according to the material chosen, and handed over in writing with the vehicle. These are the variables that decide it.
Wrapping
The term depends on the vinyl: a high-end solid colour does not offer the same as a chrome or a chameleon, and a car that sleeps in a garage does not behave like one parked in the sun all year on the street. We tell you the material's term before you accept the job.
PPF
We offer up to 3 years of warranty on the installation. The exact term depends on the film chosen and is written into the quote, together with the reference of the material.
It covers yellowing, cracking and lifting with no external cause. The ability to self-heal micro-scratches is part of what the material does, not part of the installation warranty.
The warranty and the lifespan are different things: the film lasts three to five years on average depending on exposure and maintenance, and for the first three we are the ones who answer for it.
Ceramic coating
Here the warranty is conditional on maintenance: long-life coatings need periodic inspections to stay valid. If the car goes through roller washes or is cleaned with abrasive products, the product loses performance and the cover falls away.
Paint correction
A polish carries no warranty on how long it lasts, because the state of the clearcoat depends entirely on how the car is washed afterwards. What we do guarantee is the result handed over: if holograms or machine marks appear that are down to our work, we correct them.
What is excluded
No warranty covers external damage. We would rather say so here than in the small print.
External damage
- Knocks, scrapes and vandalism
- Impacts that pierce the vinyl or the film
- Damage from an accident, or from body and paint work done afterwards
- Staining from aggressive chemicals outside the maintenance we set out
Incorrect maintenance
- Car washes with rollers or brushes
- A pressure washer held close to the edges
- Polishes or abrasives used on vinyl or film
- Waxes and silicones that are not compatible with matte and satin finishes
The vehicle's prior condition
- Paint with filler underneath, resprays or flaking clearcoat
- Areas with rust under the panel
- Plastic parts already worn or distorted
- Defects pointed out in writing before the job was accepted
Work by third parties
- Partial removal or repair of the material by another workshop
- Products applied over the finished job without asking us
- Bodywork modifications made after the installation
How to keep the warranty valid
- Wash the car by hand with the two-bucket method, or in a touchless wash
- Use a pH-neutral shampoo and avoid abrasive or solvent-based products
- Do not aim the pressure washer close to the edges of the material, or at an angle into them
- Remove bird droppings, tree sap and insect remains as soon as you can
- Respect the initial curing time we give you when the car is handed back
- Keep the quote and the warranty document: they state the material and the dates
- Before any bodywork on a treated area, talk to us first
If something is not right
Message us on WhatsApp with photos of the area and we will tell you whether it is a warranty case before you move the car. If it is, we agree a date and put it right at the workshop at no cost; if it is not, we give you a repair quote before touching anything.
Frequently asked questions
Is the warranty transferable if I sell the car?
Ask us before the sale. The warranty on the application is tied to the job, and the one on the material depends on the manufacturer's conditions for that particular product.
Is a lifted edge always covered?
If it appears with no external cause, yes: it is an application defect and we correct it. If the edge has lifted because of a scrape, direct pressure-washer force or a roller car wash, that is external damage.
What if the vinyl fades early?
That is a material warranty case. With the reference stated in your quote we take the claim to the manufacturer and tell you what is covered on that product.
Can I wash the car wherever I like?
You can, but a roller wash is what damages a wrap, a PPF and a ceramic coating fastest. Hand washing, or a touchless wash, is what keeps both the work and the cover in good shape.
Does the warranty cover removing the material?
Removal is a separate service and is quoted as such. What we do guarantee is that, on paint in good condition, it is removed without damaging it.
Where do I find my specific terms?
In the quote and in the handover document: they state the material applied, its reference, the date and the warranty term for your job.
